100% Cabernet Sauvignon.  Left-bank Bordeaux lovers take note!  Gaja’s Cabernet-Sauvignon was planted in 1978 in the heart of the Barbaresco village in which they are the benchmark.  Darmagi demonstrates the Langhe’s capacity to produce a fine wine from an international variety. Excellent sun exposure with a balance of clay and silt that creates optimal soil drainage.  The hand-harvested fruit was gently macerated for gentle round tannin, then pressed to mature in oak for 24 months.  Aromatics leap from the deep, inky wine with notes of cacao, blackcurrants and blackberries, violets, and sweet licorice.  This translates to the palate with generous ripe blue and black fruits, the vibrant, rich fruit is balanced by a long-lasting freshness; at once powerful and elegant with smooth integrated tannins giving great length.
